Chennai: Speculations about Rajinikanth’s entry into politics have been making rounds for more than years are back in social media and political circles with greater intensity. A letter was out recently quoting that there will be much delay in his entry, which may happen after 2021 assembly elections. This created ‘hungama’ with tweets from his fans across globe which read: “Please come Thaliva, show some light to TN and give some hope”. The main reason for the delay in entry, according to the letter, is the pandemic which is shaking TN and for a 70-year-old (his fans won’t accept the age) man it might be a great risk to campaign in public with rallies.
Amaravati: Recent statement by central government on Polavaram project created concern about the time of completion of the project. Centre recently stated that it will not involve in the major component of the project related to land acquisition and resettlement which is against the State Reorganisation Act, 2014. AP CM Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy repeatedly said there was large scale corruption in the construction of the project but did not have objection to hand it back to the Centre if it could complete in a timeframe. Jagan Mohan Reddy strongly believes Polavaram project is a heart of AP people which was started during his father’s period. Jagan Mohan Reddy came up with reverse tendering to reduce the cost of the project which worked, but now the main question arises about the role of the Centre in this project which was taken up as ‘National Project’.

All eyes are on two constituencies Sira and Raja Rajeswari Nagar (RR) as they decide the fate of senior politicians of Karnataka, Deve Gowda(87) and Yeduyarappa(79), who are almost looking for a retirement from active politics.
