Hyderabad : Some new trends are discernible in the voters’ behaviour as the counting of votes in the GHMC elections continues on Friday afternoon. That the employees have never been with the ruling TRS has been established by postal ballots. The old lines of loyalties in Hyderabad old city and the new city have asserted themselves once again.
Hyderabad: Initial trends of counting show TRS is leading in major divisions out of 150 along with MIM. As per the information, TRS is leading in 57 divisions, BJP 28, and MIM in 30 divisions at 1 pm. TRS cadre started celebrations after knowing the trends. BJP is still confident and in a hope that figure will cross 30 mark.
Hyderabad: Dec 1st witnessed GHMC elections with voting percentage of 46.7%, which is a little higher than previous one in 2016. There were minor clashes on the polling day with money inducements and liquor flow going on a large scale. The fraud was practised by all parties. In a few areas, the rate was almost Rs. 15000 per vote which shocked the pollsters.
Hyderabad: From the day of polling, there were many complaints arising against EC as days went on, even on the counting day. Today after the counting started for 150 wards in GHMC, there were complaints against the negligence of polling officers and EC with the incidents which are quoted below. In Jambgah, there were 471 polled votes as per EC official announcement on Dec 1st, polling day, but agents were shocked to see only 257 votes in the box. In Vivekanandanagar division, it was surprising to see 219 more votes than polled in ballot box.
Hyderabad: Circular which was released by EC at late night on Thursday created ripples in political circles. As per the circular issued by EC, ballot paper voted with ‘INK’ is also valid. Generally as per rules, if the vote is not marked by Swasthik symbol, provided at booth, it is considered invalid. This new circular raises eye browse in parties which are hopeful of doing better in GHMC elections.
Hyderabad: Much awaited counting for GHMC elections started on Friday at 8 am. Postal ballots were counted in the first one hour which shows that saffron is leading in 85 wards out of 150. BJP leaders say that it reflects the mood of the voter, but TRS is confident that it will gain in ballot counting. It is just a matter of 100s of votes, we are relying of 1000s of ballot votes which have to be counted, our cadre are ready to start celebrations by afternoon, we will win maximum seats and people have once again given the steering to us, say confident TRS leaders.
Hyderabad: Telangana High Court order on Friday morning that the order passed in the midnight of Thursday-Friday by the State Election Commissioner would not be valid, thus shocking the ruling establishment. The HC made it clear that only the Swastik marks should be counted as votes and not the ink marks as ordered by the SEC. The court has considered the complaint lodged by the BJP leaders favorably. The HC has directed the Election Commission to pass on the revised order to consider only the Swastik mark as votes to all the counting centres. The hearing was adjourned to Monday and the HC asked the EC to file a detailed counter by then.
Chennai: ‘Thaliva’ Rajinikant came out on Thursday with a sensational announcement on his political entry . He said his party will contest in 2021 assembly elections and party will be launched in January with full details to be officially announced on Dec 31st. He came out on Twitter which reads, “With great support from people, in the upcoming assembly elections, an honest, righteous, transparent, corruption free, casteless, secular, and spiritual politics will be launched in Tamil Nadu for sure, wonder…..Miracle….will happen,” thus keeping an end to all speculations which have been making rounds for almost two decades.
Hyderabad: Telangana State Election Commission has revised the polling percentage in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections to 46.55 from 45.70 % as reported on Tuesday evening. After carefully calculating after the last entry of data was taken into consideration, the voting percentage was revised by the SEC. The re-polling in Old Malakpet ward is under progress on Thursday. After the CPI candidate pointed our error in printing his symbol, the SEC had ordered a re-poll on Tuesday itself.
Hyderabad : The TRS and BJP have competed in posting ads in social media while the ruling party dominated the print medium by giving full page advertisements for two days continuously for almost all the English and Telugu daily newspapers circulated in Greater Hyderabad. Besides newspapers and social medium, the parties have spent on buntings, pamphlets, banners and stickers. A candidate contesting in the GHMC elections is allowed by the SEC to spend not more than Rs. 5 lac.
