BJP’s ‘Operation Akarsh’ in Warangal

Hyderabad: Saffron is targeting Khammam and Warangal upcoming corporation elections after gaining upper hand in Dubbaka bypoll and GHMC elections. BJP which is improving its strength in Telangana in all corners is moving with an aim to bag these two corporations at any cost. For this, it started ‘Operation Akarsh’ targeting dissidents in the ruling party who include second-level leaders and cadre. The same scene was witnessed during GHMC elections.


SC stays AP HC order describing it ‘disturbing’

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Friday described the order issued by Andhra Pradesh High Court “disturbing.” It stayed the HC order intending to embark on a judicial inquiry into whether there is a constitutional breakdown in the State machinery under the government headed by Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. The HC wanted to know if the conditions in the State warrant imposition of President’s rule.


West Bengal: TMC powerhouse Suvendu Adhikari quits, to join BJP

Kolkota: TMC leader who has an extraordinary hold on masses, Suvendu Adhikari, resigned as TMC MLA on Wednesday after a  rift between him and  Mamata had  widened. According to reliable sources, Suvendu may join BJP on Saturday in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. As soon as Suvendu submitted his resignation to speaker urging him to accept it, both the Congress and the BJP started negotiations with him to join their party. But Suvendu is keen on moving to the BJP as he felt that it is  the only party which can fight against  Mamata by all means.


Amaravati “Jana Bheri” turns tense after house arrest of opposition leaders

Amaravati: Call given by Amaravati Parirakshana Samiti(APS) in the name of Jana Bheri with a demand to continue Amaravati as permanent capital turned tense today. Leaders of the opposition parties who are on the way to participate in public meeting were stopped at their places in the name of house arrest by police. TDP, Left and the Congress leaders were in the list who were denied permission to move towards Jana Bheri.


Kejriwal tears up farm laws

New Delhi : Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tore up copies of the farm bills in a special session of the Assembly on Thursday. “Do not behave worse than the British rulers,” he warned the Centre. “Where was the hurry to get the contentious bills passed during the pandemic?” he questioned.


TS Congress leaders in wait mode

Hyderabad: Manickam Tagore, AICC representative for Telangana State, has spoken to the party leaders in Delhi about the feedback he got from the senior leaders of the party with whom he had prolonged discussions  for three days. According to reliable source, if Revanth Reddy was invited for talks in Delhi, it can be presumed that he is not going to be appointed as chief of the Pradesh Congress Committee in place of Captain Uttam Kumar Reddy. The plan was to talk to the leaders who are not being considered for the coveted post in order to convince them to stay back in the party to take up future assignments. All the leaders whom the Delhi leaders are talking with will be involved in the final discussion so that they will have satisfaction of participating in the process.


Jagan meets Amit Shah

Amravati: Andhra Pradesh CM Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy met Amit Shah on Tuesday evening and discussed various issues pertaining to Polavaram project and on decentralisation of administration in state. The chief minister submitted a memorandum which has details of Polavaram revised cost estimation with copies marked to the ministers of finance and Jal Shakthi.

TN Battle: Kamal hints at joining hands with Rajini

Chennai:  MNM chief, actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan came forward with a statement about the possible alliance with film star Rajinikanth in the upcoming assembly elections, 2021. Addressing media, Kamal said both of them will cooperate for the welfare of people of Tamil Nadu and are ready to shed their ego for that. PM Modi lights ‘Swarnim Vijay Mashaal’ on vijay Diwas

New Delhi: As a mark of 50 years completion of Indo- Pak war which led to creation of Bangladesh, PM Modi lit the ‘Swarnim Vijay Mashaal’ at National War memorial today. PM Modi was received by Union Defence Minister Rajnath Sing at the venue. Logo of ‘Swarnim Vijay Varsh’ was unveiled by Union Defence Minister who said Indian army secured a historic victory over Pakistan which also resulted in largest Military surrender after World War II and led to creation of a new nation – Bangladesh.
